Federal Medical & Dental College, Islamabad is the first public sector medical college in the capital city of Pakistan. This long standing demand materialized when Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani announced the establishment of Federal Medical & Dental College at Islamabad at its inaugural on the 14th of June 2011 at PIMS premises, Islamabad. The College a

fter inspection by Pakistan Medical & Dental Council on 28th March, 2011 was initially awarded recognition for the degree of MBBS for 50 seats only. However, subsequently after re-location to Prime Minister's Health Complex (NIH premises) this award was enhanced to 100 seats after completion of PMDC rules & regulations. The College is affiliated with Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad which is ranked as the number one University of Pakistan by the HEC.
