Hamdard Zindagi Hamdard Zindagi is an initiative of HAMDARD Laboratories (Waqf) Pakistan. It is all about the Life, health, maintenance, education, and wellbeing of one’s self.

Through this forum, we intend to reach out and enlighten our younger generation as well. It will promote Hukma, Hamdard Matab, and Medicine and will work towards explaining to the masses about general ailments, symptoms, the importance and effectiveness of Herbal and Unani Medicine. Hamdard Zindagi promotes the concept of Hikmat as a virtue of life. Hikmat is a concept narrated in our holy scriptures with lots of great meanings and associations. Hamdard understands its own responsibility to spread this word and inculcate the concept of Hikmah in everyone's life. Hamdard Zindagi is a platform that will attract Hukma, students, and the general public through webinars and online sessions by renowned Unani Medicine researchers and practitioners. This will help to promote Hamdard’s vision for a healthy Pakistan.

Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said believed healthcare was khidmat long before it was a business and he lived it. He placed Hamdard in waqf, so that what it earned would stay in the service of the people rather than pass into private hands.

That conviction built far more than a medicine company: Hamdard University and the Bait al Hikmah library, the free mobile dispensaries that still reach the underprivileged, and Naunehal, the children's magazine that taught a generation to read.

He was taken from us in 1998, but nothing he built has stopped working. Every Matab still open, every free consultation given, is his pledge being kept.

Karachi's August is hot and humid, and that combination is hard on the stomach. Food left out spoils quickly, bacteria multiply faster, and heavy meals in the heat leave you feeling sluggish which is why upset stomachs, acidity and loose motions are so common this time of year.

Most of it is preventable. Eat freshly cooked food, be careful with cut fruit, chaat and roadside drinks, wash hands and produce well, and keep hydrated to replace what the heat takes out of you.

Much of what we now call good health was once simply good character: eating in moderation, keeping clean, resting well, visiting the sick, and speaking gently.

The Unani tradition Hamdard has carried for generations grew alongside that same wisdom.
