The 3rd Clinical Pathologic Conference (CPC) of the Final Year Batch 2026–2027 was successfully held at Fatima Jinnah Medical University on Wednesday, 29th April 2026. Organized by the Department of Medical Education under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Bilquis Shabbir—Chairperson Department of Medicine, Director DME & QEC, and Dean Undergraduates—the session proved to be an intellectually stimulating and engaging academic activity.
An intriguing case was presented—a 14-year-old boy with unusual behavioral changes, highlighting a complex presentation of disinhibition, later diagnosed as schizophrenia with coexisting epilepsy, posing significant diagnostic and management challenges. This case was presented by the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, led by Dr. Irum Aamer, Associate Professor and co-presented by DR. Summaya Azhar (PGR) and Dr Aleena Shahid (HO).
The CPC was attended by final-year medical students and faculty members, with active student participation adding vibrance and depth to the discussion. The interactive nature of the session fostered critical thinking and collaborative learning.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, graced the occasion and addressed the audience. He emphasized the importance of CPCs in bridging the gap between theory and clinical practice, encouraging students to develop analytical skills and a patient-centered approach. His words served as a strong motivation for students to engage more deeply in such academic forums.
The session was skillfully moderated by Dr. Mariam Azeem, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Medical Unit I, ensuring a smooth and engaging flow throughout.
