وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمِ، بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ الْغَطَفَانِيِّ عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ الْيَعْمَرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ مَنْ حَفِظَ عَشْرَ آيَاتٍ مِنْ أَوَّلِ سُورَةِ الْكَهْفِ عُصِمَ مِنَ الدَّجَّالِ ‏" ‏

Abu Darda' reported Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) as saying: If anyone learns by heart the first ten verses of the Surah al-Kahf, he will be protected from the Dajjal.

حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ، يَرْوِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ مَنْ حَفِظَ عَشْرَ آيَاتٍ مِنْ أَوَّلِ سُورَةِ الْكَهْفِ عُصِمَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الدَّجَّالِ ‏" ‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَكَذَا قَالَ هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتَوَائِيُّ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ إِلاَّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ ‏"‏ مَنْ حَفِظَ مِنْ خَوَاتِيمِ سُورَةِ الْكَهْفِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَقَالَ شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ‏"‏ مِنْ آخِرِ الْكَهْفِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Abu al-Darda’ reported the prophet (ﷺ) as saying: If anyone memorizes ten verses from the beginning of surat al-Kahf, he will be protected from the trial of Dajjal (Antichrist).
Abu Dawud said: In this way Hashim al-dastawa’I transmitted it from Qatadah, but he said: “If anyone memorizes the closing verses of surat al-Kahf.” Shu’bah narrated from Qatadah the words “from the end of al-Kahf.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَخِيرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْعَظِيمِ، فَإِنَّكَ تَقْدِرُ وَلاَ أَقْدِرُ وَتَعْلَمُ وَلاَ أَعْلَمُ وَأَنْتَ عَلاَّمُ الْغُيُوبِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الأَمْرَ خَيْرٌ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي فَاقْدُرْهُ لِي وَيَسِّرْهُ لِي ثُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِيهِ وَإِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الأَمْرَ شَرٌّ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّي وَاصْرِفْنِي عَنْهُ، وَاقْدُرْ لِي الْخَيْرَ حَيْثُ كَانَ ثُمَّ أَرْضِنِي بِهِ

English Translation:

O Allah, I seek Your guidance (in making a choice) by virtue of Your knowledge, and I seek ability by virtue of Your power, and I ask You of Your great bounty. You have power, and I do not. You know, and I know not, and You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah, if You know that this matter [mention the thing to be decided] is good for me in my religion, my livelihood, my worldly affairs, and in the hereafter then decree it for me, make it easy for me, and bless it for me. And if You know that this matter is bad for me in my religion, my livelihood, my worldly affairs, and in the hereafter then turn it away from me and turn me away from it, and decree for me the good wherever it may be and make me content with it [Sahih al-Bukhari 6382].

Urdu Translation:
اے اللہ! میں تجھ سے تیرے علم کی بھلائی طلب کرتا ہوں، اور تیری قدرت کے ذریعے تجھ سے قدرت مانگتا ہوں، اور میں تجھ سے تیرے عظیم فضل کا سوال کرتا ہوں۔ کیونکہ تو ہر چیز پر قادر ہے اور میں قادر نہیں، تو جانتا ہے اور میں نہیں جانتا، اور تو تمام غیبوں کا جاننے والا ہے۔ اے اللہ! اگر تو جانتا ہے کہ یہ کام (اپنے معاملے کا تصور کریں) میرے دین، میری روزمیری اور میرے انجامِ کار کے لحاظ سے میرے لیے بہتر ہے تو اسے میرے مقدر میں کر دے اور اسے میرے لیے آسان بنا دے، پھر اس میں میرے لیے برکت عطا فرما۔ اور اگر تو جانتا ہے کہ یہ کام میرے دین، میری روزی اور میرے انجامِ کار کے لحاظ سے میرے لیے برا ہے تو اسے مجھ سے دور کر دے اور مجھے اس سے پھیر دے، اور میرے لیے بھلائی مقدر فرما جہاں بھی وہ ہو، پھر مجھے اس پر راضی کر دے۔

The DUA is of Musa A.S when he couldn't see any future prospect infront of himself.
The army or Firon was after him because Musa A.S had committed a crime and he had to run away to save his life.
And in answer to his DUA, Allah SWT gave him rizq, a home and a wife with a peaceful future for the next 12 years before he was appointed as a prophet by Allah SWT.

Someone asked me today :
I feel like I'm lost in life, having done PHD and had a thriving career before marriage, I see myself vanishing at 40 years old. I see people around who are doing things, working and having their life together and I feel I'm nothing.

I replied:
You take the reign of your life back but keeping Allah SWT as the center. You start doing things you are passionate about. Reach out to friends you know wouldn't hold any resentment against you for not being present in their life. Build that friendship and support system again. Start slowly and start getting excited for things. We don't get excited anymore. We are living in such a miraculous and magical world but we don't see the magic around us. The power of Allah. In every little detail. He's always there, even talking to us through signs, through different wasilas. Listen to what Allah is saying. Open yourself to your surroundings and to your heart again.
