𝐏𝐅𝐏𝐏’𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐖𝐇𝐎 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐫 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 (𝐇𝐌𝐈𝐒) 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
The delegation, comprising Mr. Bheru Lal, M&E Nutrition, WHO Islamabad Office, Dr. Yahya, Technical Officer WHO, and their team, observed the practical application of HMIS across various hospital services.
Dr. Raza, Medical Superintendent Mian Mir Hospital, and Mr. Abid Ghaffar, Manager MIU/MIS, along with the technical team, demonstrated the system’s functionality across OPD, Emergency, IPD, Family Planning, Gynaecology, and other departments.
The team was also briefed on the AI-enabled features integrated into HMIS, which are assisting healthcare providers in clinical decision-making, diagnosis, and treatment. The WHO delegation expressed appreciation for the scale, innovation, and commitment of the Health & Population Department, Government of Punjab, towards strengthening digital healthcare systems.
The delegation later visited the PFPP Project Management Unit (PMU), where the Nutrition Module of HMIS was presented. The WHO team shared valuable technical recommendations, including the inclusion of additional nutrition indicators and the development of a structured training plan for successful implementation.
The Punjab Family Planning Program continues to support the advancement of technology-driven, evidence-based healthcare solutions aimed at improving service delivery and health outcomes across Punjab.
