Today, participants deepened their clinical expertise with an in-depth session on Red Eye Management, sharpening skills to quickly identify and treat common & sight-threatening causes.

The second module shifted focus to the critical intersection of medicine and law. Our facilitators delivered powerful lectures on Medicolegal essentials, covering:

🏥 Enhancing Life-Saving Skills: ACLS Training at PGMI

We are proud to share highlights from Day 3 of our 5-Day Capacity Building Training Program for Medical Officers (Batch 6).

This specialized initiative is conducted by the Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI) in collaboration with the Project Management and Implementation Unit (PMIU) of the Health Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Today’s focus was on the critical evening workshop: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).

Through hands-on training and expert-led sessions, our Medical Officers are refining their ability to respond to urgent cardiac situations with precision and speed. We remain committed to strengthening the healthcare workforce and ensuring the highest standards of emergency medical care for our community.

A Huge Success!

For the first time in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a Difficult Airway Management Workshop was successfully conducted under the umbrella of the Difficult Airway Society (DAS) — marking a significant milestone in advancing airway management training in the region.

This workshop was organized through the collaboration of Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI), Rehman Medical Institute (RMI), Peshawar, and Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, bringing together dedicated healthcare professionals committed to improving patient safety and outcomes.

🔹 Key skills covered during the workshop:
* Video laryngoscopy (VL) techniques
* Supraglottic airway devices (SGAs) placement
* Use of optical stylets
* Fiberoptic intubation skills
* eFONA (Emergency Front of Neck Access) using 3D-printed models
* Structured approach to adult difficult airway management (DAS 2025 guidelines)

Participants benefited from expert-led sessions, hands-on skill stations, and interactive learning in a collaborative environment.

Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) to strengthen clinical training through advanced simulation-based learning.
