Protect Your Child from Dehydration!

Diarrhea and vomiting are common childhood illnesses, but they should never be ignored. The most important thing parents can do is keep their child well hydrated by offering small, frequent sips of Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) and continuing breastfeeding or age-appropriate foods as tolerated.

\It is equally important to monitor for signs of dehydration, such as a dry mouth, sunken eyes, reduced urination, unusual sleepiness, or the absence of tears while crying. Parents should seek immediate medical attention if their child is unable to keep fluids down, has persistent vomiting or diarrhea, develops a high fever, passes blood in the stool or vomit, or shows signs of severe dehydration.

When Should Parents Worry About Their Child's Height & Weight?

Every child grows at their own pace but if your child is significantly shorter, taller, underweight, or overweight compared to others of the same age, it may be time for an evaluation.

Growth concerns are often caused by two main factors:- Nutritional or dietary issues that affect healthy growth.- Underlying medical conditions such as hormonal disorders, chronic illnesses, genetic conditions, or other health problems that need timely diagnosis and treatment.

Early assessment can help identify the cause and ensure your child receives the right care for healthy growth and development.
