Our team contributed in multiple poster presentations, video session, oral presentations and participated in Surgical Jeopardy. A special highlight was securing the Silver Medal in the poster competition.

Prof. Zarin insightful talk on laparoscopic adrenalectomy was a key takeaway.

🌟 Surgical Week 2026

Prof. Dr. Zarin Khan and his team made a remarkable contribution during Day 3 of Surgical Week at Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Medical College & DHQ Teaching Hospital, Mirpur AJK.

A successful laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy was performed on a super-obese patient (BMI 44.4), demonstrating advanced surgical expertise, precise technique, and real-time intraoperative decision-making in metabolic surgery.

Prof Zarin, along with Associate Prof Dr. Muhammad Imran and their dedicated surgical team, proudly participated in the 10th Live Shalamar Bariatric Workshop 2026, held at Shalamar Hospital, Lahore on 10th April.

A key highlight of the workshop was Prof Zarin performing a live sleeve gastrectomy demonstrating advanced operative skills and precision.

This prestigious platform brought together leading experts in bariatric surgery, and the representation from KPK reflects the growing contribution of the region in advancing modern surgical practices. The team’s participation underscores their commitment to surgical excellence, continuous learning, and academic collaboration.

✨ Day 2 Highlights – Laparoscopic Gynaecology Course ✨

Day 2 featured four live Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy procedures, expertly performed by our master trainers — Prof. Zarin, Dr. Imran Khan, Dr. Asma Ambareen, and Dr. Nisar Ahmed.

Participants had the opportunity to observe live surgical demonstrations at the Modular Operation Theatre, Khyber Teaching Hospital, gaining valuable real-time insights into advanced laparoscopic techniques.

The course concluded with a closing ceremony and certificate distribution, followed by closing remarks by the Chief Organizer, Dr. Asma Ambareen, appreciating the efforts of all involved. The event ended on a pleasant note with lunch.

🙏 Special thanks to all participants for their enthusiasm, and to the master trainers and organizing team for their dedicated efforts. A special acknowledgment to Dr. Asma Ambareen for her pivotal role in initiating and promoting laparoscopic gynaecology at Khyber Teaching Hospital.

✨ Day 1 Highlights – Laparoscopic Gynaecology Course ✨

The first day of the Laparoscopic Gynaecology Course at PGMI Clinical Skills Lab, Peshawar was successfully conducted with enthusiastic participation.
The session commenced with a welcome note by Dr. Asma Ambareen, setting the tone for a productive academic day. This was followed by insightful lectures delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Imran and Prof. Dr. Zarin, covering key concepts in laparoscopic practice.
Participants remained actively engaged throughout the day, which concluded with hands-on laparoscopic simulation training, facilitated by Prof. Dr. Zarin, Dr. Zubair Shabbir Kahnazada, and Dr. Imran.
