Foot pain has many roots - from skin to bone. Location tells the cause.
*Heel / Bottom of foot:*
Plantar fasciitis - sharp morning pain first steps, from tight calf, flat feet, long standing, bad shoes. Heel spur, fat pad thinning after 40.
*Arch / Midfoot:*
Flat feet or high arches - uneven load. Overuse from walking on hard tiles barefoot. Posterior tibial tendon failure.
*Forefoot / Toes:*
Bunions - tight pointed shoes. Morton neuroma - burning between toes. Metatarsalgia from high heels. Gout - sudden big toe fire at night. Arthritis.
*Ankle / Side:*
Sprain old injury, Achilles tendinitis - back of heel pain in runners.
*Nerve / Burning pain:*
Sciatica / S1 nerve, diabetes neuropathy, B12 deficiency, piriformis tightness - tingling, burning, worse at night.
*Systemic causes:*
Vitamin D deficiency - dull ache everywhere. Uric acid high, calcium low. Obesity - double load. Low magnesium - cramps at night.
*Lifestyle reasons:*
Barefoot on hard floor, worn-out joggers, standing 8 hours, sudden weight gain, poor socks, excessive sugar/salt causing swelling.
*Red flags:* Swelling + fever, black toe, can’t bear weight, numbness spreading.
Check shoes first, then Vitamin D, B12, uric acid, sugar. Most foot pain is not foot problem - it’s shoes, posture, and deficiency.
