HOW IT IS USED
The Weitlaner Retractor is a self-retaining surgical retractor designed to maintain tissue separation and improve exposure of the operative field.
After appropriate surgical exposure, the retractor is positioned by a trained surgical professional according to the procedure and tissue requirements. The handles are gradually compressed to open the prongs, and the ratchet mechanism maintains the selected retraction position. Tissue tension and positioning should be monitored throughout use. The ratchet is released in a controlled manner before removal.
Commonly used in: Orthopedic, spinal, general and other procedures requiring self-retained surgical exposure, depending on instrument size and configuration.
