APRICOT KERNEL:
Gilgit Baltistan is considered to be the most organic part of Pakistan and this region has
an organic environment which is conducive to produce quality fruits. This product is
prepared in various villages of Baltistan using an old traditional method. The apricot
kernel is the seed inside the apricot stone. It is extracted by cracking, opening and
removing the hard shell. Apricot Kernel has two varieties: sweet and bitter. The bitter
variety is locally used to extract apricot kernel oil whereas the sweet one is used for
eating.
Apricot seeds can also be added as a flavor in different dishes. In Baltistan, people
sprinkle crushed apricot seeds mixed with mint, coriander and salt in their famous
dishes plapu for garnishin.
DRY APRICOT:

content of fruit evaporates without losing its nutritional value. The product is naturally
sweet and organic, containing the nutrients of fresh apricot, with no artificial additives.
Dry apricots can be consumed at any time of day. You can eat it alone or can be used to
decorate salads, cereals, and other dishes. As apricots are naturally sweet, you can also
serve them as dessert. Dry apricots, soaked in water, become more juicy, and are easier
to chew. It contains iron, fiber, potassium, and vitamins A, C, and E.
