🦟 LIFE CYCLE OF MALARIA PARASITE 🩸

Do you know how malaria develops inside the human body and mosquito?

🔬 The life cycle of Plasmodium involves two hosts:
👤 Human — asexual multiplication
🦟 Female Anopheles mosquito — sexual reproduction

➡️ Mosquito bite → Sporozoites → Liver → Merozoites → RBCs → Ring stage → Trophozoite → Schizont → Merozoites → Gametocytes → Mosquito

📌 Important points:
🔹 Sporozoite = infective stage for humans
🔹 Gametocyte = infective stage for mosquito
🔹 Liver stage = pre-erythrocytic stage
🔹 RBC stage = erythrocytic stage
🔹 Rupture of infected RBCs contributes to the characteristic fever and chills of malaria.

🧪 Medical Laboratory Tip:
Peripheral blood smear can help identify malaria parasites, particularly during the erythrocytic stage.

📚 Know the parasite. Understand the disease. Save lives.
