The Pharmaceutical Industry Association of Puerto Rico (PIA) is a non-profit organization that gathers and represents research-based multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies with operations on the island. As leaders of the biopharmaceutical industry, we promote the understanding of our economic and social contribution. The biopharmaceutical industry represents 30% of the island's G
ross Domestic Product (GDP) and 33% of the local government’s income. Additionally, the industry generates over 78,000 jobs on the island: 18,000 direct and 60,000 indirect. The PIA Board of Directors is composed of twelve members, which include senior executives from the manufacturing and the commercial sector. Board members focus their efforts on five permanent committees:

5. Government Affairs
