In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,
His Excellency Dr. Samer Salameh, Deputy Minister of Labour of Palestine,
Major General Akram Al-Rajoub, Representative of the Popular Organizations,
Distinguished colleagues,
Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed guests,
Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
On behalf of myself and the Palestinian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists, it is my great honor to welcome you to the Palestinian Conference on Medical Radiologic Sciences — this important scientific and professional gathering that brings us together today on the land of Palestine despite all circumstances and challenges.
Your esteemed presence today reflects the significance of the medical imaging sector and reaffirms the value of partnership and collaboration between local and international institutions in supporting education, professional development, and the advancement of Palestinian healthcare services.
Allow me also to extend my deepest appreciation and gratitude to everyone who contributed to organizing and making this conference a success — including the scientific, preparatory, and organizing committees, our supporting institutions, partners, sponsors, and every colleague who devoted their time and effort to ensure this conference comes to life in a manner worthy of our profession and its noble mission.
Distinguished attendees,
This conference convenes at an exceptionally difficult time for our Palestinian people, amid extraordinary and harsh circumstances in which our healthcare institutions continue to face immense pressure, while healthcare professionals endure daily challenges that extend far beyond the boundaries of professional duty into the realm of humanitarian and national steadfastness.
Radiology departments and medical imaging professionals have been among the most affected during these exceptional circumstances, given their direct responsibilities in providing diagnostic examinations for injuries and emergency cases, often working long hours under tremendous psychological and physical pressure, and frequently within limited resources and extremely challenging working conditions.
Despite these challenges, the Association has remained steadfast in fulfilling its professional and scientific role, dedicating all possible efforts to maintaining continuous professional development and supporting practitioners in the field of medical imaging.
In this context, we extend our deepest respect and appreciation to our colleagues in Gaza, who continue to carry out their professional and humanitarian duties under extraordinarily difficult conditions, despite war and severe shortages in resources. We affirm the Association’s full solidarity and unwavering support for them.
We firmly believe that investing in science and medical expertise is an investment in the future of our homeland and the health of our people, and that sustaining our professional and humanitarian mission despite all challenges represents an essential part of the resilience and perseverance of the Palestinian people.
Distinguished guests,
Continuous scientific advancement, keeping pace with modern technologies, strengthening radiation protection, ensuring safe working environments, and promoting scientific research are all fundamental pillars for improving healthcare services and enhancing the quality of professional practice.
Driven by the Association Council’s strong belief in supporting scientific research and encouraging Palestinian researchers to participate actively in international scientific forums, it has been decided to establish an annual grant for a lecturer participating in an international conference in medical radiologic sciences accredited by the Association, in support of scientific excellence and to ensure Palestine is represented in a manner befitting our national competencies.
Out of our commitment to supporting students, graduates, and emerging talents in the field of medical imaging, this conference has also allocated a dedicated platform for students to participate through scientific and research presentations.
It also gives me great pleasure to announce the decision of the Association Council to hold the next conference in the city of Bethlehem at the end of 2027, God willing, with the hope that we shall gather then under better circumstances for our homeland, our people, and our healthcare sector.
In conclusion, I once again warmly welcome you all, and in the name of Allah, we hereby declare the opening of this conference, wishing it every success and prosperity.
Our sincere thanks and appreciation go to all attendees and to everyone who contributed to the success of this conference.
May peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you all.
