Inner autumn is around day 20-26 of our menstrual cycle and this is where my inner critic hides out. Maybe yours does too?

I feel autumn time of the year can be edgy too - the feeling of incompletion or not getting the things done that we hoped for this year, saying goodbye to summer and the impending end of the wheel of the year at Samhain.

This is a vulnerable time. Go easy x

The next wild & free retreat is at the threshold of winter and spring next year.

Stepping into a new season with intention and ritual is one great way to realign your life to a natural rhythm.

Imbolc is about planting seeds for our future. In nature the land is fertile and ready for planting after winter restoration (the time of the cycle we will be stepping into soon).

Brigid is the spring goddess representing fertility, abundance, artistry and courage. We will connect with this energy to give us focus and clarity in our lives.

A handful of pictures from wild & free September retreat in Portugal.

The sun shone bright for all of the days meaning practices were outside on the deck - hatha yoga in the morning - after a silent hike to the lake and big breakfast with jams made on the farm.

We gathered in late afternoons after massage and reiki for sound bath, kirtan and a chakra meditation with crystals by the water. We shared the challenges and struggles we’ve been going through and the intentions we are holding.

Our opening evening circle was deep which meant the bonds between the 11 women, who each arrived alone, were created from the beginning and strengthened over good chats at the table and the craic and fun tasting jams and fig fire water!

Feeling grateful to have spent such a beautiful time in nature with an incredible group of women.

May we stay wild
May we stay free

xx

Autumn Equinox blessings everyone! This was my conscious closing of wild & free retreat at an incredible sunset here in the Algarve. In the past I often rushed past the ending - I’d get back home, the next event, unpacking, organising, into the supermarket. I’m wise now to take time to honour endings because they are sweet too and packed full of insight and wisdom.

The Autumn Equinox shows us, and my teacher Mari Kennedy really impressed this upon me, that a strong ending is important.

On the Equinox we experience a day that is equal night and equal day. It is a pause before a shift and an inevitable ending. We are letting go of the long summer days, outward action and the sun high in the sky, and we are welcoming in the autumn breeze, the declining light, inward focus and the end of this cycle over the coming weeks and culminating at Samhain.

We get a chance to pause here at the Equinox
And acknowledge the harvest and the struggles of the year.

Season 2 let’s go

True Self with Sarah podcast is back. And while I’m committed to this pod and each element of my work, it’s still bloody tricky getting started.

This is an episode about procrastination, perfectionism and the desire to do things with care and intention - the tension between creating something meaningful and beautiful and also getting on with it.

I’m sharing words from listeners (let’s come up with a better name for yiz), thank you for being here! And I’m buzzed about this season. Think of it as an invitation delivered with a warm cup of your brew of choice giving you space to go within this autumn.
