What if the way we tend to ourselves during transitions helps prepare the ground for how we enter what is next?

◇ The transition from Winter to Spring in the menstrual cycle ◇

There is a particular point in my cycle when I can feel myself crossing from deep Winter into Spring.
The energy begins to return. There is a sense of renewal and clarity, and I start feeling ready to put my energy towards any projects.

And yet, in early Spring especially, my system still asks for gentleness.
I think of myself, my energy, and my pursuit of goals at this time as a little seedling emerging from the Earth. Something new is beginning, but it is still tender. It needs tending. Protection. Time.

I've noticed that how I meet the Spring and Summer phase of my cycle depends, in part, on how well I have honoured the medicine of Winter and have tended to the paced and careful transition into Spring. On how attentive I've been with what else is showing up during this transition, and given it space and time to exist.

It's taught me that a transition isn't just something we pass through on our way to what's next. How we meet it matters.
The return of energy can easily feel like a signal to begin doing more and return to 'normal'. I have to really remind myself here that being Woman means that I am cyclical, not linear. And each point along that cycle holds the fertile ground for what's next.

I feel the very first invitation of Spring is simply to notice what is beginning to emerge.
And tend to it.
Give it enough space to take root.
And then, when the time comes, let that energy move towards what is calling us.

I'm learning that even these small, regular transitions can show us something about how we move through change.

What is your current transition, big or small, showing you?

Why can even transitions we welcome leave us feeling unsettled?

We're always in motion: small cycles and big ones. And every time a version of us leaves, there's something that needs to be felt, not just moved past.
Maybe the discomfort isn't a sign something's wrong. Maybe it's just the sign that we're growing into a place we haven't found yet.

Spending a lot of time by the water, I am thinking about the strange, ancient relationship between ocean, moon and body.

What if some of those rhythms are still moving through us?
What if life's cycles, small and large, aren't asking to be controlled, fixed or made more convenient...
but listened to? 🌊

On my way to a mother's blessing the other day reminded me again that our society often celebrates the arrival of a baby, but so often forgets to nourish and care for the mothers.
Motherhood changes us in ways that are both beautiful and demanding, no matter if it's our first or 5th child.

Mama Bear Magic was created for those moments when you need a little extra support, steadiness and gentleness.

When people first discover flower essences, one of the questions I hear most is:
"What flower should I take for...?"

It's a natural question.

But it's not how I work.

Two women can come to me with the same concern and leave with completely different blends.

Because flower essences aren't about matching a flower to a symptom.

They're about meeting you.
Your story. Your patterns. The season of life you're moving through. The qualities that are waiting to be strengthened.

That's why every custom blend begins with a conversation.

Because your flowers can't be chosen until I've met the person they'll be supporting.

🌿 Have you ever been surprised by how differently two people can experience the same life event?

You don't need to know anything about flower essences to come by.

Perhaps you're curious. Perhaps you're moving through a life change. Perhaps you'd simply like to discover what these remarkable plants have to offer.

You're welcome to pop in, browse the essences, ask questions, find a personalised blend, or chat about working together more deeply.

You don't need more healing.

I know that's a strange thing for a flower essence practitioner to say. But I really believe what we call healing is often something else.

It's integration.

Composting.

Taking the experiences, losses, mistakes, griefs and endings of previous seasons and allowing them to become fertile ground.

Not carrying them forever.

Not getting rid of them.

But letting them become soil.

Because a flower does not flower despite the soil that holds its roots. It flowers because of it.

So perhaps the question is not:

"How much more healing do I need?"

But:

"Have I digested what life has already given me?"

"Has it nourished what is wanting to emerge?"

"Do I know what is wanting to emerge?"

This is the lens through which I hold consultations.

It's life's cycles of composting and emergence that I am aiming to support, so that just like a flourishing garden, every season is feeding the next.
