🧪 Antiviral efficacy testing – scientific rigor with a responsible approach

At Labfit, we perform antiviral efficacy testing against enveloped viruses, a group that includes viruses such as hantavirus, using validated methodologies adapted to different product types and intended uses.

Our studies are conducted following European standards, in accordance with recognised international standards and under stringent quality systems ensuring robust, reliable and regulatory-relevant results.

🔬 Our services include:
• Antiviral efficacy testing in accordance with EN 14476;
• Quantitative non-porous surface test for virucidal activity without mechanical action, according to EN 16777;
• Measurement of virucidal activity on textiles and other porous materials, under ISO 18184 standards;
• Measurement of antiviral activity on plastics and other
non-porous surfaces, under ISO 21702 standards;

Through this integrated approach, our team can assess antiviral performance across liquid products, surfaces, and functionalized materials, generating robust, reproducible and scientifically sound data to support both regulatory submissions and R&D activities.

Antiviral efficacy results should always be interpreted within their appropriate scientific context. Viruses can differ significantly in structure and susceptibility, and laboratory results—while essential—must be communicated responsibly, avoiding overgeneralisation or misinterpretation.
