My first solo holiday with my little one is ending today, and it’s been pretty groundbreaking if I’m honest.
I wanted time to read and write, have quality time with him, and a break from daily life - and I got all of that.
But I’m also leaving with a renewed sense of empowerment, like there’s nothing I can’t do as a single mum.
The first few days were challenging, but I managed to break through some sort of glass ceiling around day 3 and honestly it’s been amazing to see the transformation both in myself and in him 🥰
I felt inspired to write about our time here, and that turned into a piece about something that’s been on my mind a lot lately: about how us women & mums tend to overgive in our relationships, and where this comes from.
It’s called the Biology of Overgiving, and asks: what if people pleasing is more physiological than we realise?
