This is how your Six Senses Douro Valley journey begins. 🌿
A warm welcome from our GEM team, with a homemade infusion, Port w**e, dried fruits and a warm or refreshing towel.
Then, it’s time to ring the bell.
In the Douro, bells were once used to call vineyard workers home from the fields to share a meal and reconnect with their families.
We carry that tradition into our Arrival Ritual. Guests ring the bell to say “I’m home!”, marking the beginning of their own journey of reconnection with themselves, others and the world around them.

As boas-vindas da nossa equipa GEM fazem-se com uma infusão preparada por nós, vinho do Porto, frutos secos e uma toalha quente ou fresca.
Depois, chega o momento de tocar o sino.
No Douro, os sinos eram antigamente usados para chamar os trabalhadores das vinhas de regresso a casa, para partilharem uma refeição e reencontrarem as suas famílias.
Mantemos essa tradição viva no nosso Ritual de Chegada. À chegada, cada hóspede toca o sino para dizer “Cheguei a casa!”, assinalando o início da sua própria viagem de reconexão consigo, com os outros e com o mundo à sua volta.
