Candle care: simple rituals for a better burn.

1. TRIM BEFORE EVERY BURN
Trim the wick to approximately 6 mm / ¼ inch before lighting. A properly trimmed wick helps create a steadier flame and reduces smoking and soot.

2. LET THE FIRST BURN COUNT
Allow the melted wax to reach close to the edges of the vessel. This helps prevent tunnelling and encourages a more even burn throughout the life of your candle.

3. KEEP BURN TIMES REASONABLE
Don't burn your candle for too long at once. As a general guideline, up to 4 hours is recommended, unless your candle's specific instructions say otherwise.

4. EXTINGUISH WITH CARE
Use a candle snuffer where possible, and never use water to extinguish a candle. Allow the candle to cool completely before moving it.

1. APARAR ANTES DE CADA UTILIZAÇÃO
Apare o pavio para aproximadamente 6 mm/¼ de polegada antes de acender. Um pavio aparado corretamente ajuda a criar uma chama mais estável e reduz o fumo e a fuligem.

2. APROVEITE A PRIMEIRA QUEIMA
Deixe a cera derretida chegar perto das bordas do recipiente. Isto ajuda a evitar a formação de um túnel e promove uma queima mais uniforme durante toda a vida útil da vela.

3. REGULARIZAR O TEMPO DE QUEIMA
Não queime a vela durante muito tempo de uma só vez. Regra geral, recomenda-se até 4 horas, a menos que as instruções específicas da sua vela digam o contrário.

4. APAGAR COM CUIDADO
Utilize um apagador de velas sempre que possível e nunca utilize água para apagar uma vela. Deixe a vela arrefecer completamente antes de a mover.

🇨🇦🛒 My Canadian shopping trip took an unexpected Portuguese turn… 🇵🇹😂

I went to Canada for a holiday. Apparently, I also went grocery shopping in Portugal. 🤷‍♀️

Today’s discoveries:

🛏️ Portuguese sheets — because apparently even my bed needs to speak Portuguese.

🍓 Portuguese jam — because you just need some fig jam to go with snacks before dinner.

🍪 Portuguese cookies — because one simply cannot be expected to survive abroad without biscuits from Portugal.

🍺 Portuguese b**r — obviously. This one requires absolutely no explanation. 😂

🫒 A Portuguese olive dish — because when you’re thousands of kilometres from home, you need somewhere appropriately Portuguese to put your olives.

At this point, I’m beginning to suspect Canada is secretly just Portugal with better maple syrup. 🇨🇦🇵🇹
