Monte da Orada is 71 hectares of Green Alentejo: Pine trees, water that has been running through this land since ancient times, and gardens that are the first thing a person sees when they arrive for a retreat. All of it is tended by hand, every day.

We are looking for a gardener to join the team.

The work: the gardens and the grounds around the sanctuary, irrigation, seasonal pruning, the flower and vegetable garden, the paths people walk before a session.

If this is your work, write to us at [email protected].

Something delicious is happening at Monte da Orada.
Our kitchen has been busy. Very busy. The kind of busy that involves whispered conversations about fermentation, suspicious amounts of olive oil, and at least one heated debate over the perfect chickpea.
The result? A whole new menu. Same soul, same hands, same Alentejo light coming through the kitchen windows. But the plates have evolved.
Our chefs have been quietly reimagining everything, drawing from the land around us, the seasons, and the kind of slow attention that only happens when you really love what you do.
We won’t spoil the surprise. Come hungry!

There is a rhythm beneath the skin that knows it is continuous with the rhythms beyond.

Practicing recognition of that ongoingness is an option; a possibility we can cultivate with slow curiosity.

A retreat is a place where time is offered to the part of you that already knows that. To come forth, to be listened to.

This honing of perception through practice in turn becomes a gift to give.

There are 2 spaces left for our upcoming immersion in Portugal, Rhythms of Belonging. 6-13 June

A 7 day retreat weaving somatic yoga, embodied philosophical enquiry, and sacred sound as a doorway to exploring our felt recognition of the self-other-world continuum.

You will be practicing with and receiving next level restorative practices and body work from .sustainable.living, and highly attuned massage also by
