Over the past eight days, BAHO NEZA SWE & BAHO NEZA EDUCATION, through our dedicated ambassadors, had the opportunity to reach communities in different parts of Rwanda, including Gisenyi, through our “FREE THE MIND AND TRY” program.
The program brought together children, adolescent girls, young mothers, and women, creating a space where participants could learn, connect, exercise, share ideas, have fun, and gain practical knowledge that can improve their everyday lives.
The program focused on:
Healthy living and physical exercise Personal hygiene and environmental protection Healthy nutrition and the importance of vitamins Education and encouraging children to work hard in school Entrepreneurship and self-reliance Saving and responsible financial habits Self-confidence and positive thinking Empowering young mothers to believe in themselves and explore opportunities for a better future
210 children participated in the activities 61 mothers and young women participated 271 participants in total
One of the most encouraging observations was seeing that many children already had a good understanding of environmental protection. The program gave us an opportunity to strengthen this knowledge while creating a positive environment where children could learn, play, interact, and build confidence.
For young mothers, especially girls who gave birth at home at a young age, we shared an important message:
❤️ Early motherhood does not mean that your future has come to an end.
With confidence, determination, knowledge, practical skills, and the right opportunities, young mothers can continue learning, develop their talents, create income-generating opportunities, and build better futures for themselves and their children.
Through practical cooking activities, participants also learned about healthy foods, essential vitamins, and the importance of good nutrition for the human body.
At BAHO NEZA, we believe that empowerment is not only about giving people things. It is also about sharing knowledge, building confidence, and helping people recognize the potential they already have to create positive change in their own lives and communities.
