We are pleased to announce the successful completion and handover of a Masjid in Nepal, located near Nepalganj, approximately 350 km from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Nepalganj, a sub-metropolitan city in Banke District on the Terai plains, lies close to the southern border with Bahraich District in Uttar Pradesh, India.
The Masjid stands on a 504 m2 lot area with a built-up area of 150 m2 across two floors. The ground floor consists of the main prayer hall, while the first floor is designed for multipurpose use, including Islamic learning classes. Additional facilities include: the imamโs residence, a shop, ablution areas, and site development works.
In terms of finishes, the prayer hall flooring is laid with white marble and black marble strips, neatly marking the rows for worshippers. Interior walls are cladded with ceramic tiles up to 1.2 m height, with the remaining surfaces completed in cement plaster and paint.
The structure is built using load-bearing brickwork, with elevations designed in red brick finishes, reflecting Nepalโs rich cultural diversity and traditional architecture. Pyramid-shaped roofs with clay roof tiles further enhance the buildingโs architectural harmony with local traditions. The minaret also has red brick finishes similar to elevation of the building.
Natural light and ventilation are ensured through windows on all sides except the west wall of the prayer hall, supplemented by fluorescent tube lighting as required. External site development includes curbstone paving and concrete screed finishes, while an elevated water tank with a deep well and pumps ensures reliable water supply for ablution, toilets, and the imamโs residence uses.
This Masjid stands as a symbol of purity and community spirit, reflecting the essence of Islam, where prayers are established, hearts are connected, and the needs of the community are embraced.
