Not everyone with prolapse has a “weak” pelvic floor 👀
We hear a lot about strengthening the pelvic floor… but what if part of the issue isn’t weakness at all?
Some women with prolapse, leaking, or pelvic floor symptoms are actually holding too much tension.
Think:
❌ tummy constantly sucked in
❌ bum clenching
❌ “holding everything up” all day
❌ shallow breathing
❌ always bracing
Walking creates a natural rhythm through the body:
✔️ hips rotate
✔️ ribs move
✔️ breathing becomes more natural
✔️ the pelvic floor can move with your breath instead of gripping for dear life
This can sometimes reduce feelings of:
✨ heaviness
✨ pressure
✨ “something is there” sensations
Which is why some women say (me included)
“I feel better after a walk than after standing around doing school pick-up.”
Do you notice walking helps your symptoms too? 😃
P.S. If you’ve been told to stop moving or avoid exercise because of prolapse, leaking, or pelvic floor symptoms, I’m covering pressure management, tension/gripping, and how to move with more confidence in my workshop ❤️
