You shouldn’t have to turn the pack over to find out the truth.

We checked 224 baby food products against the Government’s own guidelines.
58% breach at least one — and not a single one is breaking the law. That’s the problem.

Parents aren’t failing. They’re being misled.

Comment STOP and we’ll send you the letter to the Government — add your name alongside the doctors and scientists calling for change.

You shouldn’t need to turn the pack over and decode the small print to know if your baby’s food is actually healthy. But right now, you do.

This weekend, our research made the pages of The Guardian. We checked 224 baby food products from nine of the UK’s biggest brands, against the Government’s own guidelines.
🛑 58% breach at least one of them.
🛑 8 of 9 brands went over the sugar limit.

Here’s the problem: those guidelines are voluntary. Companies don’t legally have to follow them — and a year on, most still aren’t. The Government’s response points to the same voluntary guidelines, with industry given until February 2027.

But babies are eating these foods today.
And it’s not just us — the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health says only mandatory standards will protect children.

This open letter is signed by doctors, scientists, nutritionists and public figures — including a sitting MP and researchers from UCL, Imperial College London and Cambridge — all calling for the same thing.

Guidelines are optional. Law isn’t.

That’s the ask: make the guidelines law, not guidance — so parents can trust what’s on the front of the pack.

Comment STOP and we’ll send you the letter to read and sign. Every name makes this harder to ignore.

Comment ”LINK” for the waitlist.

3 studies. One pattern: eczema often starts in the gut, not on the skin.

One was co-authored by our own co-founder, Professor Willem de Vos, finding that eczema-prone infants’ gut bacteria matured too early into an ”adult” profile.

A 2025 study of 412 infants found 3 in 4 fall into a gut pattern linked to 3x higher risk of eczema, allergies, or asthma, and that one bacterial species cut that risk nearly 5-fold.

A 13-year trial found the right probiotic nearly halved eczema rates in babies born by C-section.

This is exactly why we built the Gut-Skin Programme. Comment ”LINK” and we’ll send you the waitlist.

”Her skin started to clear.” That’s how Ines describes it now, but it didn’t start that way.

Dermatitis appeared on her daughter’s face and body at just four months old. Months of creams, months of no answers, until a gut test found the missing piece: a specific bacteria gap linked to skin health.

Ten days after starting a targeted plan, her skin started to clear. And it didn’t stop there, a second test almost a year later confirmed what Ines had already seen with her own eyes.

”I wish I had known sooner that eczema and dermatitis are directly connected to our gut health,” she says.

💬 Comment GUT and we’ll send you our free masterclass on the top gut disruptors and the 3-step protocol for gut & immune balance.

📚A 2021 Stanford Medicine study found up to 90% of babies today are missing Bifidobacterium infantis — one of the key bacteria that trains a child’s immune system. When it’s missing, it can show up as allergies and eczema.

The unsettling part: you often can’t tell from the outside whether your child has it as birth method and breastfeeding don’t reliably predict it.

The encouraging part: the science shows the gut can be supported and rebuilt.

That’s what the free masterclass walks you through

Comment HORMONES and we’ll send you the article breaking down how your gut may affect your hormones.

Hormone imbalance can show up in 45+ different ways — many of them don’t seem connected.
Fatigue.
Bloating.
Skin changes.
Mood shifts.

But these symptoms don’t happen in isolation.
They’re often connected to underlying systems in the body — including the gut.

Research suggests that the gut microbiome may influence things like:
- Inflammation
- Estrogen metabolism (the estrobolome)
- Stress response
→ all of which are linked to hormone-related symptoms.

In our new article we explore:
- How the gut microbiome interacts with hormones
- Why inflammation and stress matter
- Why conditions like PCOS are often studied in this context
- Simple ways to support both gut and hormone health

This is an educational collaboration with .io to highlight the connection between gut health and hormones 🤍

🦠 Comment “MICROBE” and we’ll send you the full episode.

Did you know that many ingredients in ultra-processed foods have been shown in research to interfere with the gut’s mucus layer and change how your microbes behave?

The challenge is that our microbiome has evolved over millions of years…and is now exposed to ingredients it has never encountered before.

In this episode of Healthy Gut, Healthy Kids, we’re joined by Alanna Collen, PhD to explore how modern diets and lifestyles are reshaping our inner ecosystem — and what that means for our children’s long-term health.

We cover:
🦠 how modern food impacts the microbiome🛡️ the gut barrier & why it matters👶 why early life is a critical window💊 how antibiotics shape gut health🌱 what actually supports a healthy microbiome

Understanding the microbiome gives parents powerful tools — in a world that’s changing faster than our biology.

Comment “MICROBE” and we’ll send you the full episode.
Did you know that a baby’s gut microbes help train their immune system — teaching the body what to react to, what to tolerate, and how strongly it should react?
But modern life is changing those microbes fast.
C-sections, antibiotics, formula feeding, and ultra-processed food additives are all shaping the early-life microbiome — during the most critical window for immune development.

In this episode of Healthy Gut, Healthy Kids, we’re joined by Alanna Collen, biologist, science writer and author of 10% Human, to unpack how modern life is reshaping our inner ecosystem — and what this means for children’s long-term health.

We talk about:🦠 why humans are ecosystems🛡️ how gut microbes protect the gut barrier🔥 how the microbiome influences inflammation👶 why infancy is a critical window🍼 the role of birth, breastfeeding & bifidobacteria💊 how antibiotics and C-sections shift microbial development🌱 why fiber diversity is one of the most powerful tools for gut health

You don’t need perfection — but understanding the microbiome gives parents powerful knowledge in a world that’s changed faster than our biology has.
