After birth, everything has changed: your sleep, your body, your rhythm and often the atmosphere of the whole home.
In Ayurveda, postpartum is considered a particularly Vata-sensitive time: full of movement, change, dryness and depletion. Oiling is not simply a beauty ritual. It is one traditional way of bringing back warmth, steadiness and a sense of being held.
It does not need to become complicated. Begin with a small amount of warm oil, slow unhurried strokes over the feet, legs, arms and hands, then keep yourself warm afterwards.
Warm sesame oil is the classic Ayurvedic starting point in a cooler, drier season. It is not the only option—the book and course explain other oils and a fuller postpartum technique.
