Do you know your hearing age? ๐ŸŽง

Try this fun test: set your phone volume to the midpoint, headphones if you have them (speaker works too), and find a quiet spot. Listen as the tone sweeps from low to high frequency, and note where it disappears for you.

Comment the frequency where you stopped hearing ๐Ÿ‘‡

Match your number to a range:

โ€ข 18,000โ€“20,000 Hz โ†’ Under 18
โ€ข 11,200โ€“16,000 Hz โ†’ 18โ€“30
โ€ข 9,000โ€“10,000 Hz โ†’ 30โ€“40
โ€ข 6,000โ€“8,000 Hz โ†’ 40โ€“50
โ€ข 4,000 Hz โ†’ 50โ€“60
โ€ข Below 4,000 Hz โ†’ 60+

This is a fun, educational activity only, not a clinical hearing test or medical diagnosis. Results depend on your device, volume, and environment, and can vary widely between people. If you have concerns about your hearing, please consult an audiologist or hearing aid specialist for a proper evaluation.

That is one of the key messages from the World Health Organizationโ€™s updated Risk Reduction of Cognitive Decline and Dementia 2026 guidelines. The report reinforces that protecting brain health is a lifelong journey, addressing factors such as physical activity, diabetes, hypertension, social engagement, healthy diet and hearing loss.

Importantly, the WHO now recommends that hearing aids may be offered to adults with hearing loss to reduce the risk of cognitive decline and/or dementia.

At Amazing Hearing, we have long believed that hearing health is brain health. That belief is why we advocate for comprehensive hearing care that goes beyond hearing aids alone. We incorporate cognitive screening into our assessments where appropriate and offer personalised auditory training to help patients not only hear better, but listen better and stay engaged with the people and moments that matter most.

Our journey began with a single clinic in Tampines, primarily focused on dispensing one hearing aid brand. Today, Amazing Hearing has grown into a comprehensive hearing care provider with seven clinics across Singapore, offering independent, multi-brand solutions from Cochlear, Oticon, Phonak Global, ReSound, Signia Hearing and Starkey Hearing

From hearing assessments and ear wax removal to tinnitus management, balance assessments, auditory processing evaluations, cochlear implant care and hearing rehabilitation, our focus has always been on delivering ethical, evidence-based care tailored to every individual. We remain committed to our mission of helping every person hear to the best of their ability and live an amazing life.

This milestone would not have been possible without the trust of our patients, the support of our referral and industry partners, and the dedication of every past and present member of Team Amazing Hearing. Thank you for being part of our journey.

When hearing becomes more difficult, the brain has to work harder to process sounds and conversations. Over time, this can lead to listening fatigue, social withdrawal, and may be associated with an increased risk of cognitive decline.

The good news? Hearing loss is one of the most manageable risk factors. Early detection and treatment can make a meaningful difference in your quality of life.

If you've been asking people to repeat themselves more often, it might be time for a hearing check. ๐Ÿ‘‚๐Ÿง

At Amazing Hearing, our mission has always been clear: to help every person hear to the best of their ability.

For many people, hearing aids are life-changing. For others, a cochlear implant is the solution that opens the door back to sound. Our commitment is not to any one technology, it is to recommending what is best for each individual and walking alongside them every step of their hearing journey.

We are grateful to work alongside Rebecca Heywood Dr. Rebecca Heywood, whose patient-first approach reflects our own. Together, as one team, we are committed to helping every patient achieve the best possible hearing outcome.

Our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Cochlear Singapore team. Innovation changes lives, but it is the people behind that innovation who make it possible.

Finally, we are proud to have a team of dedicated audiologists and hearing care specialists who are committed to providing comprehensive hearing healthcare. Thank you for making our mission a reality every day

Hearing Health is Brain Health

Hearing loss is about more than just missing sounds. Research has shown that untreated hearing loss is associated with increased listening effort, social isolation, falls, and a higher risk of cognitive decline.

The good news? Hearing loss is one of the few modifiable risk factors for dementia. Early diagnosis and the right support can help you stay connected to the people and moments that matter most.

Because hearing health is brain health.
