Here is a little piece of TCM wisdom, kept simple. πΏ
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, your digestion is seen a bit like a gentle fire.
It works best when it stays warm.
When you eat cold, raw foods, that inner fire has to work much harder to warm and break everything down.
Energy that could be spent on healing and recovery gets used up on digestion instead.
Warm, cooked meals and slow double boiled broths do the opposite. π²
They are easy to absorb, comforting to the system and supportive of your natural energy.
It is not about giving up salads forever. We love salads too. It is about understanding why, especially during recovery, a warm nourishing bowl often serves your body better. π
