Finding it tough to remove a plug from a socket?

Whether it’s a tight plug, reduced finger strength, or closely placed sockets on a power strip, the Plug Hug’s flexible grip allows you to more easily and independently remove a plug from its socket.

Compatible with standard SG/UK Type G plugs.

How it works:
1. Wrap the strap around the plug and secure it onto the pins.
2. The strap creates a gap, making the plug easier to grip and pull.

Accessibility doesn’t need to look medical.

People have phenomenal capacity:)

Reading a message, replying to a friend or getting through a workday can feel routine to many of us. But for Tan Siew Ling, these everyday moments are made possible through . 📱💻

As she lost her sight and her hearing, Siew Ling uses a refreshable Braille display connected to her phone and laptop, allowing digital text to be read in Braille instantly. It helps her communicate, work and live more independently.

In her latest blog post, Siew Ling shares the barriers many still overlook, from unreadable PDFs and inaccessible documents to missing image descriptions and the need for transcripts.

Her story is a powerful reminder of how technology can open doors and why accessibility must be built into the way we communicate. ✨

As the national agency for disability and inclusion, we work to improve access to assistive technology so that more people can participate fully in life, work and community.

What is a Toddler Mobility Trainer (TMT)?
It’s a specialised 3D-printed mobility device designed to help young children develop the strength, balance, and confidence they need to build mobility and independence.

Through the global platform [3d-mobility.org], Salvage Garden volunteers 3D-printed this pink TMT free for a 2-year-old child in Singapore with Cohen Syndrome, which causes delayed motor skills that make standing difficult.

We hope that this TMT encourages active movement while providing the child with the support she needs to explore her world safely.

The work that we do is 100% volunteer-based, and all assistive devices are printed with volunteers’ personal 3D printers.

If you’d like to help us bring TMTs to more children, please consider making a contribution here: https://opencollective.com/salvagegarden-makerspace/donate, which will go towards material (filament) so more kids can explore the world independently.

We’d also love for you to be involved! Please comment here if you’d like to volunteer with us and share this post so more people know about TMTs!
