Most of our students say the same thing after their first session —

"My legs feel so much lighter. Like new legs."

Then they stand up, easier than they have in years.

Here's why.

Your knee pain usually isn't really about your knee. Your back pain usually isn't really about your back. The painful joint is almost always the victim — not the cause.

So what we release first isn't the back. Isn't the knee.

It's the feet. The calves. The thighs.

Decades of tightness in the legs pulls on everything above them. Release those first and the back and knees finally get to rest.

But release alone doesn't hold for long. What we just freed needs to lengthen. That's stretch — more flexibility, less stiffness. Skip it and the body snaps back.

And then, the biggest muscle in your body has to wake up: the glute. Activate it. Until you fire your glute, the back and knees keep doing its job.

Release → Stretch → Activate. That's the Bloom Method. In that order. Every time.

The proof? Of clients who walked in with severe pain (7–10 / 10), 85% improved in ONE session. Average pain drop: 2.11 points.

Yesterday I told you about a woman who said no to her grandkids.

Today — meet Jane.

Real client. Real story.

When her knee pain started, bending hurt. Twisting hurt. Walking long distances became painful. The 3-hour walks she used to take, the squats, the floor — all gone.

So she did what most women do. She got it scanned.

The doctors said: "Nothing structural wrong."

They couldn't find what was causing the pain.

Then she found Jen. Started the Bloom Method.

What Jen showed her in the first session — the pain wasn't where she thought it was.

4 weeks later, Jane could squat without pain. First time in years.

Last year, she went to Switzerland with her family. Her 30-year-old nephew couldn't keep up with her. He praised her for walking faster than him.

Last Christmas my grandson sat on the floor and asked me to play.

I said no.

I told him Grandma's tired. I told myself I was.

The truth was — I knew I could get down on that floor. What scared me was getting back up.

I was 56.

So I started saying no to everything. Family hikes. Beach trips. Long flights. Sitting on the floor. Not lazy. Not too tired. Afraid.

Then a year passed. Then another. Three Christmases on the couch — watching them play, never joining in.

Here's what I wish someone had told me sooner:

If you've ever turned down a moment with the people you love most — it isn't your age. And it doesn't have to stay this way. There is usually a reason your body shut down. And there is a way to wake it up.

Hip pinching when you walk?

Tight, catching, that weird "clicky" feeling at the front of your hip when you take a long stride — most women blame the bone, the cartilage, or "just getting older."

It's almost never any of those.

The muscle that usually causes it is one most people don't even know they have. In class we call it the POCKET MUSCLE — anatomically it's the TFL (tensor fasciae latae). It sits right at the front of your hip and gets tight from years of sitting. When it locks up, every step pinches.

Here's how Chris teaches women to release it at home:

✅ Place a massage ball at your front hip bone
✅ Move it two fingers beside — just beside the bone, not on it
✅ Roll over so you're side-lying with the ball tucked under the hip
✅ Lean into the mat (or the wall if the floor is too intense)
✅ Aim for the "SUAN" — the Chinese word Chris uses for a deep, dull muscular ache. NOT sharp pain.

Most women find the first release is intense. That's how asleep this muscle has been. After 2-3 minutes the tissue softens and the hip starts to open.

If your lower back hurts in a glute bridge, you're bridging with the wrong muscle.

The glute bridge looks simple. That's why most women get it wrong. They push up with the quads or arch off the back — and the glutes stay offline.

In this reel, Chris teaches the form so your butt actually does the work:

✅ Feet WIDER than your shoulders
✅ HEELS only, toes lifted
✅ Lower back presses DOWN (no arching)
✅ SQUEEZE the butt up — don't push
✅ Raise until a fist fits under your hips (not higher)

Protocol:
— Set 1: 30 seconds
— Set 2: 45 seconds
— Set 3: 1 minute
— 10s rest between sets

Add a resistance band above the knees to make the glutes work harder.

"I'm doing the clam shell but I only feel it in my thighs. Am I doing it wrong?"

No. You're doing it right. But your glutes have been asleep for so long, they haven't woken up yet.

When you fire up a glute exercise, the brain looks for the nearest muscle that CAN do the work. For most women, the glute is still offline, so the quads take over. You feel the burn in the wrong place. You think you're failing.

You're not failing. You're in round 1.

🔹 Round 1 — Legs take the load. Burning in the thighs.
🔹 Round 2 — Brain starts recruiting the glute.
🔹 Round 3 — The glute takes over.

If round 1 feels wrong, don't stop. Round 2 and 3 are where the real work happens.

Training your butt isn't three sets of squats.

It's three phases, in order. And most women skip straight to the activation.

Here's the framework Chris teaches in every class:

1) RELEASE — work the tight muscles first. If the pocket muscle, small buttock, and big buttock are locked up, no glute activation will actually fire the glute.

2) STRETCH — piriformis stretch. Tight piriformis pulls everything above and below out of alignment.

3) ACTIVATE — now you can do the glute bridge. The muscle is finally free to do its job.

Skipping any of these is why 9 out of 10 women we work with say "I've been doing squats forever, my butt never gets stronger."

We hear this every week. And honestly — if your glutes have been asleep for 20+ years, the first time you press a ball into them, it will be intense. That's not the problem.

Forcing full bodyweight from day one — that's the problem.

1) Bend the knee — you control how deep the ball goes
2) Hot pad first — 5 min to soften the tissue
3) Against the wall — gravity doesn't stack on top of you
