PCOS just got a new name — and it’s about time. 👏

As of May 12, 2026, PCOS has been officially renamed to PMOS: Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.
Why does this matter?

Because the old name reduced a complex, whole-body condition to “ovarian cysts” — which aren’t even cysts. They’re immature follicles.

The new name recognizes what so many of us already knew: this condition affects your hormones, your metabolism, your skin, your mental health, your weight, your energy — not just your ovaries.
