some days i thought i’m functioning normally

but when i pause for a moment and realised
my jaw is tight
my shoulders are tensed
my mind is still running

and somehow my body has been staying “alert” the whole day

I used to think it was just bad sleep.

A few people asked me what I’ve been using lately.

Honestly… I keep it very simple now.

Most of the time I just go for something calming or something that helps me release a little.

Nothing fixed, nothing complicated.

Some days I want something fresher,
some days something more grounding.

I realised it’s less about choosing the “perfect oil”
and more about creating a moment to slow down and let the body settle.

I think I used to overcomplicate wellness a lot 😅

Since quite a few of you already know I use oils…

I’ve actually gone back to using them in a much simpler way.

Not for anything specific,
just something calming when I need to slow down.

Especially after the long weekend,
I realised my body still doesn’t switch off that easily.

So instead of overthinking,
I just keep it very basic.

Some days I notice it helps me settle faster,
some days it’s just part of the routine.

Still figuring things out,
but this feels a lot more sustainable for me 🩷

I realised something recently.

Sometimes my body is tired,
but it doesn’t know how to switch off.

So I started trying small things to help it settle.

One of them was using scent.

Nothing complicated.
Just something calming in the background
when I need to slow down.

I don’t always notice it immediately,
but over time… it feels easier to settle.

I noticed something about myself.

Whenever I feel tired,
my first instinct is to push through.

Finish this first.
Do that first.
Rest later.

But the more I do that,
the harder it is for my body to actually slow down.

So I’ve been trying something different.

Not perfect,
just pausing a bit earlier.

Still figuring this out.

Tired the whole day…
but when it’s finally time to rest,
my mind just won’t switch off.

I used to think I just needed more sleep.

Last night my throat started acting up.
The kind that makes you immediately think… “ᴇʜ ᴛᴏᴍᴏʀʀᴏᴡ ʜᴏᴡ??” 😅

So I didn’t wait.
I just went straight into full oil mode, even though I already super tired.

Goldenrod
Thieves
Peppermint
Copaiba

Spam. Repeat.

Not trying to fix it overnight.
Just supporting my body early before it gets worse

From a TCM view, this kind of throat issue usually links to heat, dryness, or simply your body being too tired. So instead of suppressing it, I focused on:

Cooling
Calming
Opening
Supporting

This morning… still slightly there
but way better than last night

Sometimes it’s not about instant cure.
