One of our long-time CPAP users recently came in with a ResMed S9 that had clocked over ๐๐,๐๐๐ ๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ of use. The machine had served him well, but with its age, failed humidifier and recent concerns about nasal dryness and congestion, it was time to consider the next step.
After discussing his options, he decided to trade in his S9 and move to an ๐๐ข๐ซ๐๐๐ง๐ฌ๐ ๐๐. We helped him set up the new machine, connected him to the app and started with therapy settings familiar to him while we follow up on how he adapts.
A newer machine also means he can once again make use of humidification, which may help improve comfort when dealing with dryness from continuous airflow.
๐ก ๐๐ก๐ ๐ญ๐๐ค๐๐๐ฐ๐๐ฒ: An ageing CPAP may still be running, but that does not always mean it is supporting you as comfortably or reliably as it once did. Regular reviews can help identify when servicing, adjustment or replacement is the more practical next step.
If your CPAP has been with you for many years, we are happy to help you review your options โ without assuming replacement is always the answer.
