That viral "lemon water + rock salt" trick promising to dissolve kidney stones in 3 days? It's pure fiction. While lemon juice is a great source of citrate which helps prevent new calcium stones from forming, it cannot dissolve an already hardened mineral deposit. Once that stone is fully formed, no amount of acidic juice will melt it away. In fact, drinking excessive salt water can actually dehydrate you further or spike your sodium levels, making things worse.

Here's the real danger: while you're sipping on this trend, that stone isn't shrinking, it's either growing or dangerously lodged in your ureter. Delaying medical care can lead to kidney swelling, severe infections or even sepsis. If you have flank pain, nausea or blood in your urine, skip the DIY flush and call a urologist.
