Time and again, our volunteers have shown just how incredibly committed and creative they are in helping our patients with their wishes. No detail is too small when it comes to giving patient a most meaningful and memorable wish experience.
Most thankful to Yoke Ling, Meng Kiong, Hui Ling and Peggy for helping Sally with her wish.
Here, Hui Ling shares her experience in carrying out Sally’s wish. Amazing teamwork as always! ❤️

Sally was diagnosed with liver cancer.
A widow with no children, Sally’s wish was to have her ears pierced so that she will not be reborn as a maid in her next life, as what she believed. She also hoped to have a pretty photo taken and used for her funeral.
This request came at a time when we were unable to meet Sally face to face to find out more about her wish due to COVID related restrictions and because Sally was already warded in the isolation ward at the hospital.
However, we managed to find out more about Sally through our phone chats with her. Working as a team, the volunteers came together and overcame all odds to execute the wish within 4 days of receiving the request.
We were blessed with a sponsor for the ear piercing – hats off to Desmond from Piercing Clinic who went the extra mile to visit Sally to perform a very professional ear piercing service for Sally at the hospital.
Our volunteers worked hard to source for clothes, make up and accessories so that we could help Sally to look pretty for the photoshoot.
We also had Noel, who dedicated his time to go to the hospital as our photographer to take a portrait for Sally.
We were glad that we had listened in carefully to Sally’s preferences and caught on to tiny pieces of information during our calls with Sally. For example, Sally had briefly mentioned that she wished she could wear a tiara to look like a princess. Knowing this will greatly enhance the wish experience for Sally, we got her a tiara. It was a pleasant surprise for her and she absolutely loved it!
We had also prepared a bouquet of flowers in her favorite colors. Sally fell in love with the pretty flowers!
The wish was completed when we delivered the portrait to her along with a basket of fruits to wish her good health.
Sally is not the only one out there.
We are dedicated to support people like Sally so if you know anyone in palliative care who has wishes, do refer them to us and we will do our utmost best to fulfill their wishes.
Because this is what we belief in - fulfilling wishes, celebrating lives ❤️
