Chrysanthemum Tea vs Coconut Water
✅ Answer: Chrysanthemum Tea 菊花茶 🌼
🌼Chrysanthemum tea is more cooling in nature than coconut water in TCM. If you experience heaty symptoms such as red eyes, headaches, or a sore throat, chrysanthemum tea may help clear heat and soothe the body.
🥥Coconut water is also cooling, but mainly helps replenish fluids and relieve thirst.
菊花茶在中医理论中比椰子水更偏寒凉。
如果你容易出现眼睛红、头痛或喉咙痛等上火症状,菊花茶有助于清热、清肝明目。椰子水同样具有清热生津的作用,但主要用于补充体液、缓解口渴。

Barley Water vs Sugarcane Juice

🌾Barley water is more cooling in nature than sugarcane juice according to TCM principles.
Barley helps clear heat and drain dampness, making it suitable for those who feel heavy, sluggish, or prone to internal dampness.
🎋Sugarcane juice is cooling too, but mainly helps generate fluids and relieve thirst.
从中医角度来看,薏米水比甘蔗汁更偏寒凉。
薏米具有清热利湿的作用,适合身体湿气较重或容易感到沉重、疲倦的人。甘蔗汁同样能清热生津,但更偏向于润燥止渴。

You might know what foods are heaty. 🔥 But do you know which foods are more cooling? 🧊

In TCM, foods are classified as heaty, cooling, or neutral, not by their temperature, but by how they affect your body’s balance.

Too much ‘cooling’ food can show up as bloating, indigestion, fatigue, especially if you have a weaker digestive system. But this also depends on your individual body constitution. What feels cooling for one person may not affect another the same way.

在中医里,食物会被归类为“热性”、“凉性”或“平性”,并不是根据食物本身的温度,而是根据它们对身体平衡所产生的影响。

如果摄取过多“凉性”食物,可能会出现腹胀、消化不良、容易疲倦等情况,尤其是脾胃较虚弱的人更需要注意。
当然,这也和个人体质有关,对一个人来说偏凉的食物,对另一个人未必会有同样的影响。

一碗温润滋养的粥品,助力秀发健康生长与内在平衡 💆🏻‍♀️

🥣 材料(1-2人份):
• 糙米 (或白米) ½杯
• 当归 10克
• 黑芝麻 1½汤匙(轻微炒香)
• 淮山 15–20克
• 红枣 3颗(去核)
• 清水 700–800毫升

🔖 做法:
• 糙米洗净后浸泡约15分钟。
• 当归、淮山和红枣稍微冲洗。
• 将白米、药材和清水一起放入锅中。
• 大火煮沸后转小火慢煮30–35分钟,期间适当搅拌。
• 最后5分钟加入黑芝麻。
• 温热食用即可。

💡适合气血不足、面色暗淡、头发干枯,或需要温和养血与调理脾胃的人群。

A warm, nourishing congee to support hair growth and inner balance 💆🏻‍♀️

🥣 Ingredients (Serves 1-2):
• Brown rice (or white rice) ½ cup
• Dang Gui slices 10g
• Black sesame seeds (lightly toasted) 1½ tbsp
• Dried Chinese yam (huai shan) 15–20g
• Red dates (pitted) 3pcs
• Water 700–800ml

🔖 Directions:
• Rinse the rice and soak for about 15 minutes.
• Rinse Dang Gui, Chinese yam, and red dates briefly.
• Add rice, herbs, and water into a pot.
• Bring to a boil, then simmer on low heat for 30–35 minutes, stirring occasionally.
• Add the toasted black sesame seeds in the last 5 minutes of cooking.
• Serve warm.

💡 Suitable for: Individuals with fatigue, dull complexion, dry hair, or those seeking gentle blood nourishment and digestive support.

Lotus Seed (Lian Zi) 莲子

You’ve probably seen this in Chinese soups or desserts, but in TCM, it is commonly used to strengthen digestion and support imbalances related to the Spleen and Kidney.

你或许常在中式汤品或糖水中见到它,但在中医里,它常用于健脾助运,调理脾肾失衡。

Key Functions 主要功效与益处:
• Tonifies Spleen Qi 补脾益气
• Supports Kidney function 补肾固本
• Stabilises essence (helps reduce excessive discharge) 固精止带
• Calms the mind and supports restful sleep 养心安神
