This weekend we celebrate birthday of my — and honestly, what a human being I ended up with. 🎂✨
He brought a the first Grand Prix to Singapore with Pond’s — a literal first for an entire country, then created one of the most awarded campaigns in the world, Vaseline Verify. Brought the agencies he work for to the most awarded top ones. But people don’t know he is also who grilled a barbecue IN FRONT OF OSAKA CASTLE (photographic evidence below), who built a wood workshop on our balcony, who fixes ceiling lamps like he was born on a ladder. And who, without breaking a sweat, sits down to help our IB daughter with math equations that I personally refuse to look at. You are part creative genius, part DIY wizard, part barbecue chef, part mathematician, and full-time magician — the kind who doesn’t pull rabbits out of hats but somehow makes entire grand prix races appear in countries that had none.
Happy birthday, Marco. Very, very happy me — to call you my life partner. 🥂

What if AI was your boyfriend? 🤖💔
Honestly, I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately — because more and more people are telling me, in and out of the consulting room, that their AI companion just gets them. Better than most people do.
And I get it. I really do. When human relationships feel complicated and exhausting, something that’s always available, never reactive, never needy — that’s genuinely appealing.
But as a psychoanalyst, something about this worries me.
We grow through imperfection. Through the moment someone doesn’t show up quite right and we survive it. Through the gap between what we need and what we actually get. That gap — as uncomfortable as it is — is where the self is built.
An AI that’s always perfectly there closes that gap. And in doing so, it might be robbing us of the very friction that makes us more human.
If an AI feels easier than your real relationships right now — I’m not here to judge. I’m curious. What are you hungry for? And what are you quietly avoiding?
