Harmony and You Hi, I’m Trudy! Welcome to my space for countryside living & holistic wellness 🌿.

https://www.youtube.com/ I am a devoted yogi and will be your guide on the path to self-discovery through the ancient art of yoga. Allow me to share a glimpse of my journey and the wisdom gained from years of dedicated practice and teaching. I am a passionate advocate for holistic well-being,

and my love affair with yoga began as a personal quest for balance and inner harmony. In every breath and movement, I've found a sanctuary—a place where authenticity, self-love, and mindfulness flourish. With 5 years of teaching experience, my mission is to create a nurturing space where students can explore their potential and rediscover their inner light. My teaching style is a fusion of traditional wisdom and modern understanding, offering a holistic and functional approach that transcends the physical aspects of yoga.

I’ve been dealing with my first winter bug 🤧❄️ — along with lingering postnasal drip and thick morning mucus. With GP appointments not always easy to access in the countryside, I’ve been focusing on nourishing my body while I recover.

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspective, my symptoms seem to resemble Spleen Qi Deficiency with Phlegm-Damp, so I’ve been leaning into warm, comforting and easy-to-digest foods.

🥣 My pumpkin & brown rice congee:
🎃 Pumpkin — beta-carotene + supports digestion
🍚 Brown rice — fibre + steady energy
🫚 Ginger — warming + supports digestion
🍄 Mushrooms — antioxidants + nutrients for overall health
🌱 Spring onions — vitamin C + antioxidants
🫛 Okra — fibre + supports gut health
🥣 Miso — fermented + adds flavour
🥚 Egg — protein + choline + B12

Throughout the day, I’m also swapping my usual caffeinated tea for warm Chen Pi (aged mandarin peel) with honey 🍊🍯 — traditionally used in TCM to support Qi movement and transform Phlegm, while honey can help soothe the throat.

This is simply what I’m doing to support my own recovery, not a substitute for medical care. 🌿

Still getting used to this whole winter yoga thing. ❄️🧘‍♀️

After years of living in Singapore, where it’s warm all year round, moving to Tasmania has definitely changed the way I experience my yoga practice.

These colder mornings make me want to slow down, warm up, move with intention and listen to what my body needs. 🤍

A new season, a new home, and a new way of moving.

What is 8 Nests Tapping?

8 Nests Tapping is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)-inspired self-care practice that uses gentle tapping on eight key lymphatic and energy-rich areas of the body. These areas are believed to support lymph flow and Qi (vital energy).

This practice may help:

Support lymphatic circulation and waste removal

Encourage blood flow

Wake up the nervous system and boost energy

Ease tension and stiffness

Promote relaxation and reduce stress

Improve body awareness

Scientific evidence is limited, so it’s best seen as a simple wellness routine that complements exercise, medical care, and a healthy lifestyle.

Just 2–5 minutes a day can help you feel more awake, relaxed, and connected to your body.
