🌻We use chairs, ropes, blocks in our yoga classes not because we don’t know how to do the pose, but to be more engaged in the pose, to do and feel the pose better.
🌻Yoga props help to awaken our muscles, our senses and our minds as we stay in the pose.
🌻Props help us to regulate our breath, bring our attention inwards and keep the mind from being tense when practicing more challenging poses.
🧘🏻‍♀️This inward journey to ourselves, to be aware of our physical and mental state can only be made possible by consistency in Yoga practice.
🧘🏻‍♀️Do not look for big and fast rewards. The rewards from your yoga practice will naturally come as when you practice with a pure mind.
🧘🏻‍♂️Live and cherish the present moment. 🙏🏻

🌿The feeling of ‘tight hips’ is common and some of the causes are:
1. Sitting for long hours and/or
2. Stress

🌿When you sit for hours, your hips are in a flexed position. The Hip Flexors (front of hip) become short and tight.

🌿The main muscle here, the Psoas major, that connects your spine to your leg, is in a chronically shortened state.

🌿The Psoas major also connects to the diaphragm and your “fight-or-flight” nervous system via fascia, creating a direct link between your breathing, core stability and movement.

🌿When you are chronically stressed or anxious, your Psoas has a tendency to contract and guard. This creates a physical sensation of deep, visceral tightness in the front of the hips.

🌿Releasing the hips through yoga poses such as baddha konasana, eka pada raja kapotasana (pigeon pose) mobilise the hips and release stress.

🪷In the mid-20th century, Iyengar developed the use of ropes attached on walls to help students achieve proper alignment, stability, and deeper stretches—especially those who were injured, stiff, or new to yoga.

🪷Benefits of using ropes:
• To support the body in difficult poses
• To improve alignment and posture
• To allow people of different abilities to practice safely
• To help practitioners stay longer in poses with less strain

🪷Join us in this 2 day workshop to learn how to use ropes, adjust its length and their different usage.
🪷WhatsApp +65 91951783 to register. Limited rope space!

When we find a pose or movement that’s difficult, rather than getting fixated on ‘getting it’, try doing different poses or movements. One day, when you come back to it, you’ll ’suddenly’ find that you’re able to do it😃Why? Because the body is connected❣️And this is what Yoga is. Connecting the whole body and mind🙏🏻
