Signed up with a non-profit organisation for Goma to take her first step towards becoming an Animal-Assisted Activity dog.
I honestly wasn’t feeling very confident, especially when the assessor shared that only about 25% of dogs make the mark.
More than that, I wasn’t completely sure if Goma truly wanted this. She had said yes to me, but part of me wondered if she was simply following my wishes.
We passed the first assessment and are now on 3 months’ probation, during which we need to complete 4 sessions while the trainer observes how Goma interacts with the beneficiaries.
On the way to our first hands-on session, I was feeling jittery. Then I reminded myself that this journey has to be right for both of us, and that I needed to surrender the outcome to God.
So I told Goma, “If you don’t like this, show me clearly. As much as I want this to work, if it isn’t what you want, we’ll stop.”
Sweetheart’s response was basically, “Don’t stress, it’ll be fun!” 😂
Then I prayed, “God, I leave this with You. Please reveal what I need to know, and I’ll follow.”
And guess what?
We had fun. 🥹✨
Here’s the Queen enjoying her air-con break before heading back to join the beneficiaries again. 👑
Why is my dog so sweet and kind? ❤️
