Walking after meals: Bo****ks or beneficial?

I tested it myself.

Same meal. One day I walked after eating. One day I didn’t.

The difference was clear.

But don’t get it wrong. Walking is not a free pass to eat anyhow.

Food still matters. Movement helps.

Peanut butter sounds healthy right?

Protein. Nuts. Good fats.

But wait ah… not all peanut butter is the same.

Some supermarket peanut butter got added sugar, added salt, and even hydrogenated oils.

So you think you’re eating something healthy…

But actually, you may be spreading sugar and processed oil on your bread every morning.

And if you already have high blood sugar, diabetes, or trying to lose weight, this one can add up very fast.

But I’m not saying peanut butter is bad.

Good peanut butter can be a decent choice.

Just flip the bottle and read the ingredients.

Best choice?

Ingredients should be simple:

Avoid those with sugar, syrup, or hydrogenated oil.

Remember: don’t just look at the big “protein” words in front.

The truth is always at the back.

Read the label before you buy.

Been so busy that I missed my regular posting last evening 😅

Anyway, thanks for reaching out to me to do walks together but I'm a super introvert and I would be so awkward if other people are present 🫂

Walking alone is also my private time to recharge as interacting with people wears me out 😭

When you sleep too little, hunger goes up, fullness goes down, and your tired brain starts craving snacks, carbs, and sweet drinks.

You may also feel too tired to exercise or make better food choices.

So before blaming your diet, ask yourself:

Ageing is inevitable, but losing strength doesn’t have to be.

Protein helps support muscle, strength, immunity, and recovery, especially as we get older.

Start simple: add protein to every meal.

Cardio and weights are not enemies. They are teammates.

Cardio trains your heart, lungs, stamina, and endurance. It helps you move better, breathe better, and protect your long-term health.

But strength training is what helps you stay capable as you age. It protects your muscles, bones, balance, metabolism, and independence.

Because living longer is good.
But living longer while feeling weak, tired, and fragile? That is not the goal.

The real goal is to add years to your life, and strength to those years.

So don’t just walk.
Don’t just lift.
Do both.

Your future body will thank you.

Follow today for simple health tips.

Stop counting every bite. Start understanding what actually helps your body.

Calories matter, but they don’t tell the full story.

A low-calorie snack can still leave you hungry, while a proper meal with protein, fibre, and nutrients can keep you full longer.

So instead of obsessing over numbers, build calorie awareness.

Know what adds up fast.
Know what keeps you full.
Know what supports your health.

Follow for simple, practical health tips.

Empty calories are sneaky.

They fill your mouth, but not your body.

Bubble tea, sweet kopi, biscuits, chips, cakes, fried snacks, and alcohol can add up fast, especially after 30.

You don’t have to ban them.

Just don’t let them replace real meals.

Choose more protein, fibre, and whole foods most of the time.

Next time you snack and still feel hungry, ask: did I really eat, or just take in empty calories?
