自己除痣可能出現的最大問題，就是使用器具沒有消毒或消毒不完全，容易引發傷口感染；再者，自己除痣的方法例如抹蘋果醋、敷搗碎的大蒜、塗碘酒或用刀具刮，也不一定能完全除痣。
