Freedom Cups

Freedom Cups Freedom Cups is a social enterprise that distributes menstrual cups to women. Freedom Cups is an organisation that get menstrual cups to women.

We work on a buy-1, give-1 model where every cup purchased allows us to give a cup to a woman from an underprivileged community. This allows for a win-win situation where women in the developed world decrease their use of non-biodegradable sanitary products, and women in developing communities gain access to proper sanitation over the course of their periods. We ship worldwide, and Freedom Cups can be purchased at www.freedomcups.org.

when we distribute our menstrual cups to menstruators in developing communities, it doesn't just stop there. we also run reproductive health workshops, giving women and girls the knowledge to understand their bodies, make informed decisions, and take ownership of their health and family planning 💪🏽❤️

‼️ REMINDER: schedule your cervical cancer screening ‼️

a Pap smear is a quick, simple test in which a doctor gently collects cells from your cervix using a small brush or spatula. It usually takes less than 5 minutes and may feel slightly uncomfortable, but it shouldn’t be painful. cervical cancer can often be prevented when detected early through regular screening.

in Singapore, women aged 25 to 29 should go for a Pap smear once every 3 years. women aged 30 and above should go for a HPV test once every 5 years.

Singapore Cancer Society Clinic offers these tests for free. book yours today!

this Menstrual Health Awareness Month, we're holding space for the women and girls caught in crisis.

in conflict zones, managing your period becomes an added layer of hardship.
access to clean water, privacy, and basic necessities is uncertain. menstrual care is often overlooked, and though essential, period products are rarely prioritised in humanitarian aid.

you can help 🫶

each hygiene kit (SGD 194) sponsors one family and includes essentials like sanitary pads, soap, detergent, toothpaste, and more. custom amounts are welcome 💚

if you're not in a place to give, sharing this post helps too 📣

link to donate can be found on our Instagram highlights under 'donate' 💌

at Freedom Cups, we believe menstruation should never be a source of silence or stigma.

this quote is a powerful reminder of how far we still have to go in understanding, accepting, and supporting something so natural.

beyond Menstrual Health Awareness Month, we'll keep working to shift the narrative.

we asked ChatGPT: what if men had periods instead of women?

would Nike be designing high-performance pads? would period leave be standard in every job? would schools teach boys about their cycles from a young age? would menstrual products be free and widely available?

this little thought experiment underscores the reality that, menstruation has been stigmatized and under-prioritized for too long.

so this International Women’s Day, we’re doing what we’ve been doing for 10 (!!) years now and highlighting the struggles women have faced and the fight for period equity.

in the absence of local coverage, we took it upon ourselves to delve into the reports surrounding the case of Dr. Moumita Debnath. by sharing her story, we are ensuring that the injustices she faced are acknowledged, and that her experiences are not forgotten. we can collectively push for a system that truly supports and protects marginalized and vulnerable people.

her story matters, and by amplifying it, we stand against the silence that so often allows such tragedies to continue.
