Blooms of September 🌸
September is blooming beautifully — especially with our Pink Trumpet Trees (Tabebuia rosea) in full bloom.
As we pause to admire these gentle bursts of pink, we are reminded of the colours of life and the quiet gifts that Nature offers us. Simply gazing at flowers can be a calm and joyful experience — a moment to slow down, breathe, and reconnect.
Environmental psychologists Rachel and Stephen Kaplan describe this as “soft fascination” — an effortless form of attention that allows the mind to rest and recover from mental fatigue. Watching flowers sway, noticing their colours, or simply being present with blooms can offer a gentle sense of restoration.
In Japan, Hanami — the tradition of flower viewing — brings people together under blooming sakura trees to enjoy beauty, food, and companionship.
What if we dedicated September as a month to appreciate flowers in bloom?
Take a mindful moment this month: look up, slow down, and let the blooms remind you of life’s simple beauty. 🌿🌺
