Lutetium-177 Prostate Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA) therapy is a type of theranostics treatment for prostate cancer. It works by targeting the PSMA protein, which is typically found in higher amounts on prostate cancer cells, allowing treatment to be delivered directly to the cancer while minimising the impact on healthy tissue.

Last weekend, Dr Karmen Wong (Medical Oncologist and Medical Director of Icon Cancer Centre Singapore) was invited to speak at the Jakarta Family Medicine Meeting 2026 comprising more than 200 family doctors in Indonesia.

During her presentation, Dr Wong discussed current approaches to cancer screening, as well as emerging advancements such as circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) testing for early cancer detection. She also highlighted how innovations in cancer treatment are expanding options beyond traditional chemotherapy, including antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and targeted therapies.

Through these shared clinical experiences, we hope to raise greater cancer awareness among family doctors who are often the first point of contact for patients and strengthen early detection and screening, ultimately improving outcomes across Indonesia.

Congratulations to Joline Chua (Principal Radiation Therapist) and Jong Wei Loong (Medical Physics Manager, Icon ASEAN), on presenting their poster at European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO), held in Stockholm, Sweden.

Their poster showcased their experience using a specially designed radiotherapy bra that was used in surface-guided radiotherapy (SGRT) for breast cancer patients and how it is used to support more consistent positioning, treatment accuracy and patient comfort.

The conference also provided a valuable opportunity to connect with colleagues from Icon Group, Anthony Walsh (Group Director of Medical Physics) and Nola Bailey (Group Lead Radiation Therapist), reinforcing collaboration and shared learning across our organisation.

We are proud to see our iconic team contributing to international conversations on cancer care. By sharing real-world clinical experiences and outcomes, they help advance best practices and support innovation across the oncology community.

This World Brain Tumour Day, we highlight how innovation in radiotherapy is helping support better care for patients facing multiple brain tumours.

HyperArc is evolving treatment for advanced secondary brain tumours, offering a non-surgical alternative that allows clinicians to treat up to 20 tumours within the brain and a greater volume of tumours compared to only one to two lesions using conventional techniques. It also eliminates the need to deliver whole brain radiation therapy treatment which comes with significant side effects.

Watch this video featuring Dr Choo Bok Ai (Radiation Oncologist) to learn more about this radiotherapy technique.

Two years ago, cancer entered Tracy’s life in a way she never expected. Her world shifted overnight, there was fear and moments when she felt completely lost. But in the midst of it, she found her anchor, her young children. She knew she wanted to be there to watch them grow.

For them, she faced cancer with courage, leaning on the love and support of family and friends through the hardest days and the uncertainty.

Today, she stands as a reminder that with a positive mindset and courage, you can overcome even the toughest challenges.
