A recent study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology suggests that focusing solely on low-carb or low-fat diets may not effectively reduce heart disease risk.

Harvard researchers analysed data from around 200,000 health professionals over 30 years and found that consuming unhealthy refined carbs can increase heart disease risk by 14%, while healthy carbs like whole grains can lower the risk by 15%.

The study emphasises that the quality of the diet is more important than merely cutting carbs or fats.

Although it was an observational study and causation could not be directly established, the extensive follow-up period lends credibility to the findings.

A woman in eastern China is seeking one million yuan (approximately SGD $189,125.60) in compensation from a cosmetic surgery clinic after a botched procedure left her with a 6cm long scar on her chin.

The woman, identified as Ding, resides in China.

A few years ago, she underwent a fat grafting procedure on her face in South Korea, which resulted in significant swelling.

To address this issue, she later had facial liposuction at a clinic in Beijing, which only slightly improved her condition, according to the Yangtze Evening News.
