Be gentle with yourself, we all have tired days or weeks when we don’t feel like exercising! But imagine you’re making a comeback, and you gotta take center stage! Every step you take will bring you closer to the goal, which can be as simple as feeling a sense of wellbeing.

Smaller doses of physical activity and light intensity exercise does a lot of good in preventing and managing chronic disease! Don’t let the guilt of missing a few workouts stop you from clocking the bare minimal you can afford for the day. A little a day adds up, so be your own idol and cheer yourself on! We are rooting for you 💪💪💪

Did you know Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) is the leading killer of women in Singapore? Causing roughly 1 in 3 female deaths annually, CVD claims more lives among Singaporeans than breast cancer with its higher prevalence. Sobering note to start off the week, but this is indeed lesser known and worth highlighting for public awareness.

EIMS was invited to be part of the Singapore Heart Foundation’s Go Red for Women campaign this year, and we are heartened (pun intended) to have our booth among others promoting cardiovascular health. Ms Rahayu, Minister of State for Ministry of Health and Ministry of Digital Development and Information was also present and intrigued by the bone-shaped trinkets with other novelty items at our booth.

Great job to the students of ITE College West’s Technical Diploma of Health & Exercise Coaching for orientating their schoolmates about the importance of physical activity in preventive health! It was a fun and productive day with many takeaways. 🫀💪🏋🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️

Monday calls for light exercise! When the Monday Blues hit and you don’t feel like exercising, just remember that any effort is better than none! Simply adding 10 minutes of physical activity per day improves your fitness. Three hard 10-minute workouts per week improves overall health as much as those who workout more! The muscles in our body need regular “oiling”! The squats and lunges are such tired routines but they are the ones that are really helpful. For hip health, gotta get those pelvic exercises right and they will tremendously improve stability, mobility and pain relief. This is because you will avoid too much weight shift or impact on your lower body if your glute muscles are holding up across all planes of movement. Do your hips and your knees a favor to get into the groove of functional training 😊 They will thank you for it!

Glute strength is important! If you didn’t already know, there is more than having a good looking physique! 🍑👀 More importantly, glute strength is only important together with the entire lower body. Having strong glutes will prevent overuse of your hamstrings and back muscles, which can lead to strains and joint pain. Functional training is key to building strength and stability 💪💪 Let’s start early!
