A beautiful series of lectures cm practice by Teacher Li. This episode talks about allowing our breath to make space and quieten the usually disquiet mind/personality (我). In that quiet space, we allow our 'self' (自己) to heal, to have calm clarity💝

接850在分享“让呼吸”、“让心跳”、“让内脏”的过程中,有一个问题被反复问起:“我”从手上退出来,从身上退出来,从内脏退出来…...

Teacher Li Hongshi explains the finer details of zhan zhuang (站桩), a simple form of standing meditation where the quiet mind and the still, tree-like posture help facilitate better qi flow. Some pointers from Teacher Li:
1. No logical thinking. Just hold a gentle feeling of love.
2. is a healing practice, vs some martial arts zhan zhuang practices in readiness for flight or fight, hence remember not to hold any form of tension or thought in your body.
3. Gently push the pelvis forward so that the tailbone points downwards. This keeps your lumbar area flat instead of arched, hence reducing tension as you stand...for 3 minutes for a start..then building up to 30 minutes or even an hour and longer ⚘️🫶🤩

Who's motivated to strengthen both our body and achieve a calm clear mind? 🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏻‍♀️🤩 Teacher Li explains why this seemingly simple (yet elegant) movement helps immensely with circulating qi and energizing our brain.

Teacher Li Hongshi demonstrates "平足开胯‘’, Step 7 of Module 2. This exercise is excellent for strengthening our legs and energizing our brain. Salient tips from Teache Li:

1. Let the base of the palms lead and draw the circular motions, and they will automatically guide the fingertips and elbows.

2. For beginners, co-ordinating both palms and tailbone in rotation might be a bit challenging, so just focus on rotating the base of the palms, which are at a right angle to the lower arm.

Gradually, your tailbone will be able to follow suit in rotation as well. These rotations help gently move our vertebrae.

3. After the rotations, as we straighten our body and raise our palms to the 印堂(between the eyebrows), the energy flows upwards to nourish our brain. Our leg muscles would have gotten a good workout aa well 🤩

We're so happy Teacher Li Hongshi agreed to give a sharing session in English☺️ In this video, he used the analogy of lifting grandma vs lifting a 50kg stove. If we use our force with love, we benefit even as we lift grandma.
