Honoured to be invited to speak on eye cancers to the audience in Indonesia, organised by .id and .

With higher UV exposure in our region, awareness and early detection are increasingly important. Some eye cancers can be subtle in the early stages — making regular eye checks crucial for protecting sight and health.

Grateful for the opportunity to share and raise awareness on this important topic. 👁️☀️🇮🇩

She thought her eyes were fine.

But glaucoma had already permanently damaged her eye nerves.

Glaucoma often has no symptoms until vision loss is advanced.

A simple eye screening can detect it early — before vision is lost.

If you are above 40, or have a family history of glaucoma, don’t wait for symptoms.

Protect your sight early.

Congratulations to on celebrating 25 years of the TECNIS intraocular lens (IOL) platform.

The new TECNIS Odyssey multifocal IOL allows patients to enjoy good distance, intermediate, and near vision with reduced glares and halos — another exciting step forward in modern cataract and refractive surgery.

A year ago, I had the privilege of helping my mum through her cataract surgeries.

Today, seeing her enjoy clear, spectacle-free vision in both eyes is something I remain deeply grateful for. Thankful as well to all the nurses and staff at for the care and support throughout her journey.

I love you, Mum ❤️

What makes retinal tears particularly concerning is that they don't always announce themselves. In the early stages, there may be no pain or obvious symptoms at all. When signs do appear, such as a sudden surge in floaters, flashes of light in your peripheral vision, or a shadow creeping across your visual field, it's important to act quickly.

Those with short-sightedness, a history of eye injury, or a family history of retinal problems are at higher risk. Caught early, a retinal tear can often be treated with laser therapy before it progresses into a retinal detachment, which is a far more serious and sight-threatening condition.
