Weight management can be one part of managing PMOS symptoms. 🌸

For people living with Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS), formerly known as PCOS, weight may be one of several factors that can influence symptoms, hormonal health and fertility.

In our latest video, our doctor discusses weight management as part of supporting overall health and wellbeing.

Can PMOS be detected early? 🤔

The short answer? There isn’t one single test for PMOS.

Instead, doctors look at the bigger picture — your symptoms, menstrual cycle, hormone and metabolic blood tests, and sometimes an ultrasound.

So, what should you look out for?

✨ Irregular or missed periods
✨ Acne or excess hair growth
✨ Hair thinning
✨ Changes in weight
✨ Difficulty getting pregnant

These symptoms can have many possible causes, so having one or more of them doesn’t necessarily mean you have PMOS. But if something feels off, it’s worth talking to your doctor and getting it checked.

PMOS: What it IS — and what it ISN’T. 💜

September is PMOS Awareness Month, previously known as PCOS. It’s a good time to clear up some common misconceptions about a condition and why the name change.

PMOS is:
✨ A complex hormonal and metabolic condition
✨ Something that can affect periods and ovulation
✨ A condition that can impact fertility
✨ More than just an issue with the ovaries

PMOS isn’t:
❌ Simply having “cysts” on your ovaries
❌ A condition that affects everyone in the same way
❌ Just a fertility problem
❌ A completely new condition

The name Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) therefore reflects a broader understanding of the condition, highlighting its hormonal and metabolic aspects, rather than suggesting that it is simply about “polycystic” ovaries.

Know the condition. Know the difference. Know when to seek help. 💜

Many women with polycystic o***y syndrome don’t have ovarian cysts, despite what its name suggests. Now renamed polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS), the condition is increasingly understood as a hormonal and metabolic disorder. Experts told CNA Women what the change means for diagnosis...

As the month comes to a close, a gentle reminder for anyone on the journey towards parenthood. 🤍

Family planning can sometimes feel like there’s a long list of things to do more of, eat better, change, track, or get right.

But your fertility journey doesn’t have to become your whole life.

Nourish your body. Stay active in ways that feel good. Make time for the people you love. Rest when you need to. And give yourself permission to enjoy the everyday moments in between.

Whether you’re just beginning to think about growing your family, actively trying, or going through fertility treatment, small, sustainable choices matter more than trying to do everything perfectly.

One of the questions we often hear during IVF is: “Is there anything special I should be eating?”

The truth is, there’s no magic food or perfect IVF diet. What matters more is giving your body steady nourishment and taking care of yourself throughout treatment.

Think balanced meals, plenty of fluids, and foods you genuinely enjoy. Most importantly, listen to your body and follow the advice that’s right for you and your individual treatment plan.

Because fertility treatment can already feel overwhelming, we believe food should be about **nourishment—not another thing to worry about getting “right.”**

Some journeys are meant to be walked together. ❤️

As couples, we learn to lean on each other, hold space for the hard days, and celebrate every little bit of hope. And as a family, we learn that love can carry us through it all.

If we want to support parenthood, we also need to support the journey towards it. 💙

Singapore’s Marriage and Parenthood Reset Workgroup has identified workplace culture and norms as an important area for action, recognising that supporting parenthood requires not only policies, but also greater understanding and supportive workplace practices.

But there is an important group we should not overlook: those who are actively trying to become parents and need fertility treatment to get there.

For couples undergoing IUI, IVF or other fertility treatments, the journey can involve frequent appointments, procedures, medication and emotional stress — often while balancing work and career responsibilities.

We believe greater flexibility, understanding and respect for privacy can make a meaningful difference to those navigating fertility treatment.

What Does Your Blood Test Actually Measure? 🩸✨

Ever looked at your fertility blood test results and wondered what all those numbers really mean?

Fertility bloodwork can provide important insights into your reproductive health. Depending on the tests ordered, your provider may be looking at:

🔹 AMH — provides an estimate of ovarian reserve, but doesn’t measure egg quality or guarantee fertility.
🔹 FSH & Estradiol — can provide information about ovarian function and are often checked early in the menstrual cycle.
🔹 LH — helps assess hormonal patterns related to ovulation.
🔹 Progesterone — can help confirm whether ovulation has occurred.
🔹 TSH — evaluates thyroid function, which can affect menstrual cycles and fertility.
🔹 Prolactin — elevated levels may interfere with ovulation.

💡 Remember: No single blood test tells the whole fertility story. Your results need to be interpreted in the context of your age, cycle, medical history, and other fertility factors.
